BIO: Pete Violas

Born  and raised on rock-n-roll and classical music in the hinterlands of Canandaigua, NY,  Peter’s musical journey began in third grade when he picked up the Cello, and by high school was rocking out on the Bass in local bar bands.  After High School he received a music scholarship at the University of Buffalo.

While in college, Peter  formed the band Sequel, a Rush cover band managed by Billy Sheehan’s Manager Mike Faley.  Sequel performed over 200 shows opening for TALAS, KIM MITCHELL, JOAN JETT, MOUNTAIN and CONEY HATCH. After graduation, Peter made the move to Hollywood, CA, where he was recruited to play Bass for Vinnie Moore, and Samantha Fox. Peter has played in many original bands including Headpenney which he formed with drummer Glenn Jost. In 1999 Peter released a Christmas CD entitled “Christmas in Canandaigua” playing the Cello and Vocals.

Peter is a huge football fan since his playing days in High School and College.  “Being in a band is like playing football, everyone has their position and the best bands play like a team.“ Peter’s main interest though, are his children, the youngest  was diagnosed with Autism.

“Music really is the universal language, it’s a real kick turning my young kids on to the music of my youth. My 10 year old daughters favorite band is now Def Leppard!   It’s been great rediscovering the music of Boston, Journey, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi.  It’s been a great thrill playing with my old mate Glenn, as well as the immensely talented David, Al, and Victor!”
